This time we would like to share with you some
information about the reading abilities of Hill Students that was gathered this
year.
Comprehending means children could accurately discuss what they had read at
the chronological (year) level.
Decoding means they could read words accurately at their year level.

| * 91% of year one students are decoding at/above their chronological age |
| * 74% of year two students are comprehending at/above their chronological age |
| * 73% of year two students are decoding at/above their chronological age |
| * 84% of year three students are comprehending at/above their chronological age |
| * 90 % of year three students are decoding at/above their chronological age |
| * 78% of year four students are comprehending at/above their chronological age |
| * 85% of year four students are decoding at/above their chronological age |
| * 85% of year five students are comprehending at/above their chronological age |

All results are pleasing in that they show a high percentage of our students are reading and comprehending at or above their chronological age band, As expected there are greater percentage decoding then comprehending at or about their chronological age band.
